getting to know you
I have been tagged by Marian Fortunati and W.R. Jones.
There would seem to be a rash of tagging going round, like some bloggerly transmitted disease. Bloggorhea? It's a fun way of getting to know our cyber pals better and promoting their efforts.
To play along:
1. put a link in your posting about the artist that tagged you.
2. write 5 -7 unusual things about yourself.
3. tag 5 - 7 other bloggers and let them know.
A few mildly interesting things about me...
1. I turned a 50's cape cod into an eco-bungalow. I designed our renovation, acted as general contractor, and incorporated every environmentally-conscious system or material possible.
2. On any given day, I will be wearing something green or brown. I could hide in the forest with Robin Hood.
3. As a kid, I participated in competitive roller skating. There. Now I can never be blackmailed.
4. I played Anita in a community theater production of West Side Story.
5. I do not wear make-up.
6. I love Star Trek.
7. I pun by accident all the time. It's like some wacky variety of Tourettes.
I would like to tag the following artist-bloggers:
Jeff Mahorney inspired me to start blogging.
Gina of Dreamland Designs makes wonderful stationary and meaningful scrapbooks.
Robin Weiss is very likely full of fascinating stories.
Raymond Logan doesn't have comments, so I'm tagging to torment him.
Marie Wise paints a series of wind turbines which is awesome.
Connie Chadwell paints excellent figures with 'motion and emotion'
Suzanne Berry writes about her lovely paintings in a heartfelt and humorous way

BLOGGORHEA.... Okay... you made me smile again!!
Thanks, Dar!! Be well.
hi dar
i love the contrast between the feel of the leaves and the little pot, blue vs orange also works well!
a very sensitive piece...
Hi Maid Marian, I do like hanging around with merry men.
Hi Rob, thanks!
How did I not ever figure out that you have a blog??? I'm horribly embarrassed. Will definitely need to spend a little time here soon -- and admire your lovely, lovely work. Cheers!
Happy Thanksgiving Gina!
**GASP** That beautiful house, what a project, Dar!! You are a true renaissance woman! Great post, thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much Diane!
Very nice painting. I think you should let me paint (put makeup) on your face. Then we can go to a very famous restaurant and take a look at what damage we could do to your credit.
Thanks Bill.
Are we talkin' about famous like Le Cirque or famous like McDonald's?
What's left on your credit card?
This painting is so nice; wish you would put up another to look at.
I'm frustrated that I haven't had time to paint, Bill. It's making me cranky.
I can pick up the check, but not the airfare, I'm afraid. It will have to be a virtual date. But since I'll be investing in a webcam to facilitate that, I could always use it to earn a little more cash...somehow...
Hey, it's a fellow leaf and husband's shoes painter like me, with the sense of humor of Bill from On Painting! What could possibly be better?! Thanks for dropping by my blog.
Cool, how fun to know about you. (This is a beautiful painting, by the way, with the little blue vase!!) I saw one Van Gogh painting in real life with his old work shoes painted--it was so beautiful, it was unreal. If ever I wanted to steal a painting...
I also know Qiang (took the Mexico workshop with him in Sept.), and he IS adorable. And on a serious note, I'm glad your husband is a good therapist, doing good in the world. I'm from a Jewish family rife with bipolar disorder...
Anyway, I'm adding you to my art bloggers' list immediately!
Cheers,
J
P.S. Is that your real name?
P.P.S. I don't wear makeup either. Maybe that means Bill has to take us both out for dinner?
Hi Jala, kindred spirit. The name is for real, actually 'Darlene' but everyone calls me Dar. Anyway, Darlene sounds like a stripper or one of the Mandrell sisters. But I realize dar presto is a prepositional phrase or something in Italian, so it's kinda odd.
And yes, I believe that's Bill's idea of a double date.
Glad to know ya!
