7x9 oil on canvas panel, private collection
I planned on painting anemone, but the blooms are just past their prime. I walked past the bleeding heart, apologizing to it that I'm not ready to do it justice. Then I picked some lily of the valley, which smells wonderful. The flowers are so small, I only need to suggest their shape.
I am in love with this painting. It came along really easily... once I stopped pacing the floor, wondering who I'm kidding!
I need better editing software to more accurately present my work, as there are usually subtleties that don't read properly. The lemon is really a bit lighter, and there is better dimension.
It's funny that I should paint in such a subtle manner. I am anything but subtle.
A lily of the valley playlist includes both Queen and George Jones.
I only know one other person who would appreciate that.

Simply beautiful - I love this. Thanks for dropping by my site and for your words of encouragment.
Thank you so much, and thanks for visiting.
Lovely little piece. Nice reflection of the lemon in the vase and what alive color you have in the lemon.
Ah... your composition is sweet in this painting. My eye traveled happily 'round and round, with nice stops along the way. Beautiful rendering of the lemon and, like Dianne, I love the reflection of the lemon in the vase. Lovely, Dar!
wonderful ! and thank you for your comment
all the very best to you
yours Edwad
It's so nice to have such wonderful people stopping by, and I didn't even have to clean the house!
Dianne, Susan, Edward, thank you for the feedback. While I like painting in solitude, I really like this opportunity to share it. Seeing the work you all do is great encouragement for me to work hard.
Very nice blog, Dar!!
thank you, Jean. thanks for visiting!
Beautiful colors! Interesting that nothing overlaps... creates an energy. Clara was amazed (as am I!)
Dictionary.com definition #8 is "skillful, clever or ingenious; a sbutle painter." So hey!

Hi Gail! OK, I'm happy with 'subtle.' That's pretty cool.
I have to trust Clara's judgment; she has been raised in a creative, artistic environment.
